Fall is one of my favorite times of year in Aspen. The trees are a bright yellow, days are crisp and clear and town has quieted down for a quick moment as we get ready for the upcoming winter season. Annual Warren Miller films were always a family tradition when I was growing up as they always got me excited about the upcoming ski season. If you haven't seen one, I have included a clip below to get you thinking snow! Aspen real estate on all levels continues to thrive throughout the valley with a stronger year than last across all segments of the market between Aspen and Glenwood Springs. In particular, Snowmass Village activity continues to surge with more properties under contract than listed for sale. Aspen Named The Best Small City in America by Condé Nast

After a year that found many of us escaping to the great outdoors, it’s no surprise that Aspen tops this year’s list. It’s home to some of the best ski slopes in the United States—and some of the best resorts, too. The Little Nell is a popular choice for ski-in-ski-out; you can also stay at The St. Regis Aspen Resort, only a three-minute walk from the base of Aspen Mountain. If you’re more about the “après” than the “ski,” head to Meat and Cheese for the best charcuterie in town, or make a reservation at Matsuhisa Aspen, where chef Nobu Matsuhisa fuses Japanese cuisine and Peruvian ingredients. And if you've discounted the city as a summer destination, don’t: there's plenty to do here when it warms up, like hiking the Grottos Trail just east of town, or checking out the revolving contemporary art collection at the Aspen Art Museum.


Q3 2021 Market Report & Market Share

Aspen single-family home price points have risen by 17% YTD. Snowmass village single-family market is by far the most active in 2021 with dollar volume up 119% over last year and transactions up 60%. Snowmass Village condominium sales are also surging with dollar volume and transactions up 66% YTD

We continue to dominate the market with more sales than our next two competitors combined. Expert Sotheby's broker associates have represented one-third of all transactions above $2 million, and represented more than twice the amount of clients as our next competitor.

As we watch the Aspen leaves turn from green to gold and the ripe fruit of summer’s bounty fall to the ground, we welcome the beginning of autumn in the Roaring Fork Valley. Skico talks about new uphill ski pass during virtual town hall session

With winter uphilling continuing to grow in popularity, especially since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, Aspen Skiing Co. is making it a priority to better manage those numbers on its four ski mountains. And, beginning this season, this will include a required $69 uphill pass for what has long been a free endeavor.

In the second quarter of 2021, as well as for the past 20 years, Aspen Snowmass Sotheby's International Realty was able to assist more sellers and buyers with their real estate needs than any other brokerage firm in the Roaring Fork Valley. It is undoubtedly a seller’s market. Snowmass Village continues to top the charts in growth with an increase of 735% in total sales volume.

We continue to dominate our region in both the overall and luxury markets with more sales than our next two competitors combined. In the second quarter of 2021, over 31% of transactions among the top ten brokerages were ours.

We are finally turning that COVID corner! Effective this Friday, almost all COVID-19 related restrictions will be lifted in Aspen and Snowmass with summer festivities getting underway including live music, outdoor movies, rodeos and favorite events such as the Aspen Food & Wine Classic and JAS Aspen Snowmass. There is nothing quite like summer in the Rockies! June, July and August are our most active selling months of the summer and we are expecting lots of guests and buyers with a heightened interest to purchase or rent.

It has been a record-breaking past 12 months for Aspen, Snowmass, Basalt, Carbondale and Glenwood Springs sales as shown below on the market reports.
