Happy Memorial Day Weekend! The valley is green, rivers are flowing, golf is in swing and restaurants and shops are opening for business gradually. What a wild ride and grave experience this has been for all of us. I believe this time has allowed people the opportunity to re-evaluate what means the most to them and where they want to be if and when we find ourselves in this situation again. People have learned to work remotely while giving a little of themselves to others. As a result, people are seeking a healthier and safer environment to live in like Aspen. While airport and car traffic has picked up significantly and people come to "summer" here in Aspen, it makes us realize how fortunate we are to live in such a place of vast open space, infinite recreation and endless beauty. Whether you live here now, own a 2nd home here or want to make Aspen your home base or temporary retreat, please know if there is anything I can do in the world of real estate, I am here for you. Snowmass March sales tax revenues better than projected; town still in strong economic position

Although the town of Snowmass Village’s sales tax revenues took a significant hit in March due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, it was a little less severe than staff anticipated.

Snow conditions are amazing so if you plan on visiting Aspen soon, check out the Mountain Snow Report for stellar ski conditions and Calendar of Events so you can plan ahead and not miss any of the action.

In this market update I have included our 2019 Market Report covering all segments of the market from Aspen to Carbondale. Highlights include; Aspen single family home sales volume was up 37% while Aspen condo sales were down 12%. Snowmass Village single family home sales volume saw a 47% increase while the average sold price of condos increased 25% to $1,090,141. As of January 29, 2020 Aspen Snowmass Sotheby's International Realty sales volume hit $156 million- well ahead of 2019's $130 million mark. Overall, a good start to the new year!

Developer Mark Hunt buys more property on East Hyman in Aspen

A group led by developer Mark Hunt has closed on a $10.6 million purchase of the majority of an East Hyman Avenue commercial building located on the same block where construction is underway on Hunt’s boutique hotel.
